In Odesa, four regional territorial centers of social service (provision of social services) received charitable assistance in the form of 300 trolley bags.

The action was organized on the initiative of the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council, with the joint support of the “Reach to the Sky” charity fund and the Vietnamese diaspora in Odesa.

Trolley bags will be used by social representatives to deliver food, household chemicals, humanitarian aid and hot lunches to the wards of the centers. This will certainly make the provision of services by specialists of territorial centers more convenient, easy and mobile.

On May 30, 2024, assistant to the Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Odesa, president of the Vietnamese community in Odesa, Mr. Nguyen Nhi Manh and his deputy, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, as well as director of the BF “Reach to the Sky”, adviser to the Odesa mayor on public grounds with of digital development and social and humanitarian issues Veronika Etnarovich met with the director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy Olena Kitayska and directors of communal institutions.

As the president of the Vietnamese community in Odesa, Mr. Nguyen Nhi Manh, noted, Vietnamese people have been living in a large and multinational Odesa community for many years in a row. From the first days of the war, they have been participating in various measures to support victims of aggression.

“We collected funds for hospitals, residents of Kherson and Odesa residents. We recently signed an agreement with the Odessa Zoo to create an environment there for a kind of psychological rehabilitation for both children and adults,” said Mr. Nguyen Nhi Manh.

In addition to handing over bags-carts to social workers and food kits for care centers, the participants of the meeting discussed the issue of further support for vulnerable sections of the city’s population.

Olena Kitayska sincerely thanked the representatives of the Vietnamese community of Odesa and the BF “Reach to the Sky” for their support in this difficult time for our country.

“There are 4,000 citizens registered in the Department who need help and constant care. According to the city program, they are provided with a hot meal every day, so this kind of help is very timely. And the new location in the zoo is wonderful, because the children and adults for whom we organize excursions are always happy,” Olena Kitayska emphasized.
